For the best fit, we generally recommend sizing down from your regular street shoe size. Your toes should rest right at the edge of the sole when standing, without excessive extra sole in front. As you point your foot while dancing, your foot naturally slides slightly backward, so extra sole is generally not recommended.
Some dancers prefer their toes to extend slightly beyond the sole, which is a personal preference. In general, experienced competitive dancers tend to prefer the smallest size that fits comfortably, as the shoes will naturally stretch with wear.
